We made this blend to recreate a simple Dal recipe eaten regularly in North India. Indian cooking at home is usually very simple with perfect balance of flavours and nutrition. With this blend we have tried to bring you one step closer to true home cooking. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of this blend, it’s simple yet delicious. Heat level is very low.

Ingredients - Australian Chana Dal, Australian grown Mung Dal, Coriander, Cumin, Turmeric, Kashmiri Chilli, Coriander leaves, Salt

COOKING METHOD -

Follow these easy steps - 

  1. Wash lentils under cold water for 20 sec and strain, keep aside. This step is important for clearer flavour and to remove any impurities from lentils. 
  2. In a pot add 1 tbsp of oil. Simply fry some garlic and onions. Then add the entire pack of spice mix, stir for 5 - 10 sec. 
  3. Add the washed lentils and 6 cups of water & mix. Cook until lentils are soft and creamy, usually takes about 55min. Garnish with chopped coriander or parsley leaves.

Delicious and easy

Delicious on its own or add vegetables and rice for a complete meal. So easy to cook. This will be a staple in my pantry.
