'Chai' as enjoyed in India is an emotion. It's not your average beverage & it’s definitely not a sad looking milky drink, but a vibrant golden colour elixir. To make a good chai you need a specific type of black tea simmered with milk, sugar, maybe freshly crushed ginger but that's a little divisive. And when everything dances together, well, one adds the magical spices. Not only it transforms its taste but gives it some kind of magical superpowers by being anti-oxidant, immune boosting, stress relieving.
There are many kinds of chai blends in the market, but none of them have something that pretty much every household in India grows and adds to their chai and that’s Tulsi (Holy Basil). We made this blend because we want people to know about this special plant which has such an important role in Indian culture and general well being. Tulsi as an adaptogen has a unique ability to adapt its function according to specific needs of the body. Now that's really some kind of superpower!
Ingredients - Clove, Cardamom, Pepper, Cinnamon, Ginger, Organic Tulsi (Holy Basil)
Texture - Coarse
Tasting Notes - Strong, Gingery, Basil
Use - You only need 1/2tsp at the end of brewing your tea in a pot over the stove, or mix 1 tsp of black tea with ½ tsp Holy chai spice, add 1 cup of hot water and brew it in a teapot.
